Meet the team
Sally has been hairdressing since 1992 and over the years has worked with Toni and Guy, as a member of their art team, spending one day a week in London. She also set up the Aveda Salon in The Glass Works, Cambridge and spent a year working in Sydney, Australia.
Former extreme sports enthusiast, enjoying sky diving, snow boarding and bungee jumping, Sally has now settled in Suffolk and spends her free time socialising, eating out and dog walking.
Sally came to the area having completed her Aveda training and practiced Aveda in London and Cambridge for many years. She is also trained in reflexology, which is where her love of the avedic philosophy and entire wellbeing has come from.
“When I thought about opening my own salon I wanted to bring together all of the practices and elements that I liked about places that I’ve worked and leave out things I didn’t think were best for the client.
“I am passionate about delivering an experience that isn’t a production line. It’s important to me that every moment in the salon is relaxing, and that our customers know that we genuinely care about them, their experience and how they feel about every appointment.
“It’s essential that I feel proud every time I walk through the door”.
Lucie and Sally met ten years ago working at Toni and Guy Cambridge and have continued training together since her move to Aveda three years. We are both excited to be working together again.
Lucie is very passionate and conscientious about her work. She loves to recommend new things to her clients but at the same time making them feel comfortable.
Lucy loves working with Aveda products and what the company stands for.
Jo and Sally have been best friends since they were 5 years old. They describe their friendship as the sister each of them never had.
When they grew up and started work Jo eventually retrained as a hairdresser so that she and Sally could work together. Jo has been at Pure Elements since 2013 and specialises in colour, Kerastraight, conditioning treatments, blow drying and curling.
Sally says, “Jo is kind hearted and has a lovely nature, we’re both proud that our friendship is even stronger for working together. Jo is a real asset to the salon, she takes so much care over colouring and the other treatments our clients love coming to her”.
Mum to Sally, Ann is the salon’s girl Friday. From the world of ladies’ fashion and retail Ann has a lovely soothing and calm way about her. She’s front of house and also busy in the engine room taking care of wages, accounts and admin. “I just love working with the team here, and although I am biased, I can’t wait to see Sally each morning, I’m very proud of what she has achieved here and it’s a delight to support all of them”.
Keeping it in the family, Beth is Sally’s Niece. She loves all aspects of hairdressing and excels at wedding and hair ups. She’s a warm and caring person who has also qualified as a beauty therapist to be able to offer the full package. She loves the relaxed atmosphere at Pure Elements and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. “I am happiest when I am busy and I enjoy the variety of hairdressing and caring for clients of all ages”.
Described as playful, affectionate, lively, keen and sociable. Also affectionately known for snoring and grunting and has the motto “love the one you’re with”. Thai, the salon mascot is an adorable French Bulldog and he is no exception. He’s small and grey. Has distinctive “bat ears” and is very patient when he sees his treat tin. Although he has a playpen and doesn’t run free, he’s always very much part of the salon team.
